The recently published Expat Insider 2018 Business Edition — a report based on the Expat Insider 2018 survey — focuses on how global employees and their spouses experience life abroad, and took a closer look at the relocation support that employers provide to foreign assignees, international hires, and relocating spouses.
Respondents were given a list of different types of relocation support (language classes, intercultural training, additional spouse support, access to networking, access to socializing opportunities, membership in an expat organization, information on local life, move organized by employer or service provider, and lump-sum payment for expatriation-related expenses), and asked which of these aspects of support they received, what was missing from their relocation package although they would have liked it, and how useful they found the support their employer offered.
